Case Study

The Project

BuzyEazy is an all in one lifestyle service app created to make personal care and home tasks effortless. Combining laundry, barbing, and salon services, the app allows users to book trusted professionals quickly and conveniently, all through their mobile device .Whether you're booking a haircut, scheduling a laundry pickup, or treating yourself to salon care, everything is accessible in one seamless platform .The primary goal is to provide a convenient, time-saving, and quality-driven solution for everyday grooming and cleaning needs all within a modern, user-friendly mobile experience. By bringing essential services together in one place, the app empowers users to look good, feel fresh, and stay in control of their time.

The problem

The problem am trying to solve is to help users manage their personal time and  household tasks by providing a convenient, all-in-one mobile platform that connects them with trusted professionals for laundry, barbing, and salon services thereby saving time, reducing stress, and ensuring quality care in one seamless experience.

The Goal

Business goal : The business goal is to help people manage everyday grooming and household tasks by offering a reliable, all-in-one mobile platform. By connecting users with trusted service providers for laundry, haircuts, and salon care, the app aims to build a strong, loyal customer base, increase user satisfaction through convenience and quality, and generate steady revenue through bookings, subscriptions, and strategic partnerships.

User goal : The user goal  is to save time and reduce stress by easily accessing trusted personal care and home services, like laundry, barbing, and salon treatments all in one convenient app. Users want a fast and reliable way to manage these essential tasks so they can look good, feel fresh, and focus on their daily priorities.

Understanding the problem

People want to stay clean, well-groomed, and presentable, but the process of booking these services is often time-consuming, disorganized, or unreliable. From long wait times at salons to uncertainty about service quality and availability, users are left feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. This  is a clear need for a reliable, trustworthy, and time-saving solution, that helps users take care of their everyday essentials with minimal effort, from the comfort of their mobile device.
Here's my breakdown on how I understood the problem:

Identify User Pain Points : Through observation, user research, and surveys, I noticed that many people especially working professionals and students struggle with keeping up with everyday tasks like grooming and laundry. Their lives are busy, their schedules are tight, and they often don't have the time or energy to manage these services efficiently.

Lack of app : Users rely on different service providers or apps for laundry, haircuts, and salon care, which makes the experience confusing and inconvenient. They wanted a single, dependable platform where they could handle everything in one place.

Trust and Quality Concerns : There’s a common issue of users not knowing who to trust. Many hesitate to book services online due to fears of poor service , hygiene concerns and unreliable appointments.

Time-Saving : Time is one of the most valuable resources for my target users. They want services that are fast, flexible, and easy to schedule, without the hassle of calls, long waits, or repeat follow-ups.

User Persona

I created a user persona for Aisha showing her frustrations and goals as a married woman who works and needs needs this app because her demanding career leaves her with chronic time scarcity and mental stress from managing household tasks, so she can reclaim her personal time, reduce her mental load, and access convenient, quality services.

Persona : Aisha

User Research summary

The user research revealed that busy working professionals, banking staff, married women, parents, and students struggle with managing household chores and personal care due to not having enough time making them often juggle multiple service providers and apps, which they find inconvenient and stressful; they highly value trust, professionalism, and verified reviews when inviting service providers into their homes, and strongly prefer mobile platform that offers laundry, barbing, and salon services with features like real-time booking, service tracking, smart scheduling, and secure in-app payments all of which present a clear opportunity to create a seamless, all-in-one solution that saves time, reduces stress, and ensures reliable, high-quality care.

Problem statement

The problem statement is that many busy individuals especially working professionals, banking staff, married women, and students struggle to balance work, personal life, and household responsibilities. Everyday tasks like laundry, barbing, and salon visits often get neglected due to tight schedules and the inconvenience of managing them through multiple apps or service providers. This leads to missed appointments, inconsistent service quality, and increased stress. There is also a lack of trust when booking unknown service providers, especially for in-home services. Users need a reliable, all-in-one mobile platform that connects them with verified professionals, simplifies scheduling and payments, and helps them manage their time and household tasks more easily and efficiently.

The user journey map

A user journey map for a banker using the app to book laundry, barbing, and salon services.

Awareness : Realizes her laundry is piling up and she needs a haircut
Considerations : Searches for a solution on her phone
Onboarding : Downloads the app and signs up
Exploration : Browses laundry, barbing, and salon options
Booking : Schedules laundry pickup and a weekend salon visit.
Confirmation : Receives service reminders and provider details.
Service Delivery : Laundry is picked up or salon visit happens at her home
Feedback : Rates the providers and leaves a short review
Retention : Saves preferred providers and enables auto-reminders

Pain points might include:

-Limited Free Time
- Unreliable Service Providers
- Scheduling Conflicts
- Inconvenient Booking Methods

starting the design

paper wireframes

I started by drawing paper wireframes. These were simple sketches that helped me see how the app would look and how people would use it. It was a basic map that gave me a clear start for designing the app and helped me in the overall app blueprint.

Digital wireframes

I transitioned from initial paper sketches to more refined digital wireframes, allowing me to create a cleaner, interactive blueprint for the app's structure and user flow, which was crucial for effectively testing  and gathering valuable feedback before moving into the final, detailed design phase.
I created a digital wireframe by:

Choosing a tool : I used figma in creating the wireframe
Designing the layout : I created a detailed layout of the website's , including headers, footers, navigation, and content sections.
Adding interactive elements : I created components like buttons, forms, and links to simulate user interactions.
Testing user flows : I tested the wireframe to ensure navigation and identify potential issues.
Refining and iterating : I made adjustments based on feedback and testing results.

This digital wireframe served as a blueprint for the website's design, allowing me to understand the concept before moving to high-fidelity design and development.

 prototype

An interactive prototype was developed using Figma to test the user flow. The prototype focused on core interactions, such as searching for services, applying filters, and completing bookings, to ensure an intuitive experience.

Usability studies

usability-1690x1900

Usability testing was conducted with different users from our target audience, including busy professionals, students, and parents, to evaluate the app's effectiveness. The sessions focused on three key areas:

  • Task Completion: How quickly users could search for and book a service.
  • Error Rates: The frequency of mistakes users made while navigating the app.
  • Satisfaction: Users' overall feedback on the app's ease of use and visual design.

    Key Feedback Highlights:

  • Search & Discovery: Search filters were intuitive but needed clearer labels (e.g., “Distance” vs. “Miles Away”)
  • Booking Process: The booking flow was generally straightforward, though users indicated a need for additional, clear confirmation steps to ensure confidence before finalizing a service.
  • Visual Design & Branding: Visual design was appealing but lacked consistent branding across screens.

Design iterations

Based on user feedback, the following improvements were made:

  • Clearer Filters: The search filter was updated (e.g., "Distance" to "Miles Away") to make finding services quicker and easier.
  • Confident Booking: An extra confirmation step was added in the booking process so users feel fully informed and secure before finalizing.
  • Consistent Look: A consistent visual design and branding to ensure a cohesive and trustworthy experience across all screens.

Final design
The refined design, directly incorporating valuable user feedback,  resulted in a significantly more intuitive and visually appealing app. A second round of usability testing confirmed these improvements, showing both faster task completion times and notably higher user satisfaction across the board.
